Therapy in Guelph and across Ontario
Whether you're looking to improve your mental health, heal from trauma, or navigate life transitions, you don't have to do it alone.

The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change.
I prefer to think of my patients and myself as fellow travelers.
With self-compassion, we give ourselves the same kindness and care we'd give to a good friend.
When we are no longer able to change a situation, we are challenged to change ourselves.
Owning our story and loving ourselves through that process is the bravest thing that we'll ever do.
To feel truly comforted by someone, you need to feel heard in your pain.
Each person's grief is as unique as their fingerprint.
The only way to build a meaningful life is to filter out that noise and look within.
Turn your wounds into wisdom.
You yourself, as much as anybody in the entire universe, deserve your love and affection.

Kate Duquette, MSW, RSW
Welcome to my online platform! For those who know me, hello—and thanks for checking this out. As you know, I've put a lot of thought into creating this site and building something that feels authentic to me. With many years of experience in the helping field, from hospitals to emergency shelters, I've worked hard to build the career I've always dreamed of. My husband and I met in University in 2013. I welcomed our baby girl, Clara, in the fall of 2025, and as I return to practice, I've chosen to show up more fully for my private practice, Everlight.
I have training in several therapeutic approaches, but if you're looking for an informal, supportive conversation where you can simply show up as yourself and leave feeling a little lighter, I'd be honoured to meet with you.

The meaning behind the name
When it comes to therapy, my hope is that clients leave our sessions feeling just a little lighter than when they arrived.
That idea was at the heart of choosing the name Everlight. An everlight is a light that continues to shine, a reminder that even during the hardest seasons, there can still be something steady within us worth holding onto.
I believe every person has their own light. Sometimes life, trauma, stress, or simply the weight of everything we're carrying can make it difficult to see. Therapy, to me, is not about changing who you are or telling you who you should become. It's about creating a space where you can slow down, feel understood, and reconnect with the parts of yourself that may have become harder to access.
That is what Everlight represents to me…and what I hope you experience here.
